I have some really great beta-readers. One of my lovely beta-readers, Lori aka. Olley White (an amazing author who you should check out), read my final of Thrills (Cold Hard Truths #2) for me a while ago. All of her points were, obviously, 100% accurate. That being said, I re-read it and I’m just not happy. Lori was incredibly supportive, as always, but I’m not happy. So, if you’ve been waiting on Thrills…. you’ll be waiting a bit longer. I’m rewriting it starting around the 20% point. I know you likely want to smack me right now if you’ve been waiting, but I can promise that the plot I’ve outlined now is at least 3x better than it was previously.
So, all you lovely people waiting for Thrills, you might be waiting a bit longer. I’m sorry!
In other news, I’ve signed a contract with Dreamspinner Press for one of my contemporary novellas. It was called Hate Your Lovers, but since it didn’t test positively with reviewers, we’re thinking of changing it. 🙂 I’m very excited to be working with the DSP team, and can’t wait to go through their editing process from beginning to end. It’s except pub date is this fall. Expect two characters you want to hit–hard–and a few bouts of angry lovin’.
I’ve also just submitted my LL story to the lovely MM Romance Group mods. I’ve had my two amazing beta-readers, Lori and Sara, read through it, and felt confident enough to send it on its merry little way. I can’t wait to get it out in the hands of anyone who wants to read it!
ps. Would you believe that I don’t think Carver is quite mean enough in Thrills? And that’s one of the main reasons for the re-write? I want his character to be just right when writing Thrills. Carver is probably my favorite character I’ve ever written (sorry, Maps!) and I need this book to really reflect that.
